Inspired by the navy blue overalls, a work uniform worn by pilots when performing arduous tasks aboard aircraft carriers, “Oceana” completes IWC’s range of coloured ceramics. Coloured ceramics are the result of a sophisticated manufacturing process in which zirconium oxide is mixed with other metal oxides. As the colour changes during the sintering process, it takes countless trials and a great deal of experience to determine the right mix of raw materials. The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Oceana combines a blue ceramic case with a blue dial and a matching blue rubber strap with a denim-finish textile inlay. The crown, pushers and case back are made of lightweight titanium. At the heart of the easy-to-wear 41-millimetre case beats the IWC-manufactured calibre 69380. Featuring a classic design, the column-wheel chronograph movement also features a day and date display at 3 o’clock. A soft iron casing shields the movement from magnetic fields.
