The Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert features a 41-millimeter case made of sand-colored ceramic. Developed in collaboration with Pantone®, this ceramic color was inspired by the flight suits of Navy aviators and the desert landscape around China Lake, home to the U.S. Navy's famous TOPGUN flight school. Technical ceramic is remarkably light and scratch-resistant, making it the ideal material for a pilot's watch. The brown dial with discreet indices and numerals and the beige rubber strap with textile inlay harmonize perfectly with the color of the ceramic case. The case back with the characteristic "TOP GUN" engraving, the crown and the push buttons are made of titanium. Inside the case is the IWC-made IWC-calibre 69380 movement. This mechanical chronograph in the classic column-wheel design was designed with a focus on robustness, reliability and precision. It features IWC’s typical vertical dial, which places the stopped minutes directly on the 12 for better readability. In addition, a window for the current date is located at 3 o’clock. A soft iron inner case protects the movement from the effects of magnetic fields, and the front glass is specially secured to remain in place even in the event of a sudden drop in atmospheric pressure.
