This version has a 42.4 mm stainless steel case, a blue dial and rhodium-plated hands and appliques. Elegant and refined, the watch features a completely reworked case, a thinner casing ring and sapphire crystals on the front and back. The highlight of this model is its dial, which has been meticulously crafted using a complex process involving 60 steps. The surprising optical depth is achieved by applying 15 layers of fine transparent lacquer that is polished to a high-gloss finish. The counters are milled into the brass and lacquer layers. A special printing process enhances the 3D effect. Finally, the appliques are individually mounted by hand on the dial. The Portugieser Automatic 42 is powered by the IWC manufacture calibre 52011, finely enhanced with perlage and Côtes de Genève. Reinforced by ceramic components based on virtually indestructible zirconium oxide, the Pellaton winding stores a power reserve of seven days (168 hours) in two barrels. The watch is mounted on a fine steel bracelet.
