In the 1950s, the original Co-Pilot Ref. 765 AVI shared the spotlight with another Breitling icon, the Navitimer. With its bold design, engraved rotating bezel, and highly legible dial, the 765 AVI, a robust and reliable pilot’s watch, immediately became the Navitimer’s ideal companion. Today, the AVI 1953 Edition is a luxurious take on the Co-Pilot Ref. 765 AVI from 1953. The all-black dial, protected by a domed hesalite crystal, features the same Arabic numerals as the original Co-Pilot with tone-on-tone small seconds, 15-minute, and 12-hour counters. The hand-applied Super-LumiNova® has been carefully chosen to echo the original luminescent coating and gives the AVI 1953 Edition an additional vintage touch. The AVI 1953 Edition features a 41 mm case in 18-karat red gold and is water-resistant to 3 bar (30 meters). The AVI 1953 Edition is powered by the in-house developed Breitling Manufacture Caliber B09. This COSC-certified hand-wound caliber is inspired by the renowned Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01. It is available on a vintage-inspired brown leather strap with an 18-karat red gold pin buckle in a limited edition of 253 pieces, each inscribed with the inscription “ONE OF 253”.
