The Speedmaster's history began in 1957, when Omega launched this chronograph for pilots and engineers. However, it was in 1965 that the watch acquired its worldwide fame. NASA, looking for a timepiece capable of withstanding the extreme conditions of space, selected the Speedmaster after a series of rigorous tests. It thus became the official watch of American manned space missions.

During the Apollo 11 mission in 1969, astronaut Buzz Aldrin wore his Speedmaster on the moon landing, making it the first object worn on the Moon. This achievement solidified the link between Omega and space exploration, a partnership that continues to this day.

The 42 mm-diameter stainless steel case is topped by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, offering optimal legibility. The black dial features luminescent hands and hour markers, while the tachometric bezel enables speed to be measured.

Water resistance

The watch is water-resistant to 50 meters, guaranteeing protection against splashes and light immersion.
